Person and Participant Roles

Table of Contents

  1. Person Roles on the COMET server
  2. Participant Roles in a Study Model

As introduced above, a differentiation exists on the COMET server and its Study Models between:

  1. a Person: the user account valid on the COMET server composed of the login credentials, user details (name, address within ESA etc…) and a default domain. This is independent of any Study Models the person may be part of.

  2. a Participant: a Person can be added to a Study Model as Participant which defines the Person’s domain(s) and permissions within the specific Study Model.

In both groups different Roles are available which will be described below. A Person Role is attributed to a Person upon creation but this can be changed later on. Similarly, a Participant Role is attributed to a Participant upon their addition to a Study Model but this can also be changed later on.

A full overview of the Roles as well as the associated permissions at server level and at model level can be found under the Roles browser Roles Browser which can be accessed from the Directory tab.
