Study wrap up

Once the CDF study is completed, it must be ensured that the Study Model is configured accordingly. In general, the following things must be done at the end of a study:

  • Check the Study Model one last time:
After the IFP is concluded and all final changes have been implemented in the Study Model, the Assistant Systems Engineer should look at the model thoroughly to ensure everything is correct. The model is often a deliverable to the customer so this step is very important.
  • Remind the experts to check their Catalogue Model:
At this stage, experts should check if any of the Element Definitions they created for the study could be useful in future studies. If such Element Definitions are found, they should be added to the respective Catalogue Model. Reminding the experts of this step is advised.
  • Compile all budgets one last time (optional):
If it is deemed necessary, one final version of all the budgets can be compiled to ensure the final version of the model is captured. This final version of the budgets may also be necessary as part of the CDF final report chapter prepared by the Systems team.
  • Freeze the last iteration:
An additional Iteration should be made following the steps outlined here. This last Iteration should be called “After IFP”.
  • Change the Study Phase to Completed Study:
The Study Phase of the model should be changed from Design Session Phase to Completed Study following the steps outlined here.
