Getting Started

When Enterprise Architect starts and that a project as been loaded, on Publish ribbon control of the software, you will find a COMET® button that allows you to open a panel where you can connect to an E-TM-10-25 model. Once this is done, you should be able to browse the ElementDefinition tree as well as the RequirementsSpecification tree.

Mode Selection and Control

From the main panel of the adapter plugin, it is possible to:

  • To switch transfer direction,
  • To visualize trees from E-TM-10-25 models,
  • To refresh the E-TM-10-25 session,
  • To Connect/Disconnect from the E-TM-10-25 session,
  • To preview the net change
  • From the ribbon button, it is possible to:
  • To show the hub panels,
  • To map the selected SysML elements
  • To display the local exchange history

From the context menu of the Enterprise Architect Browser, it is possible to:

  • To map all Elements contained inside a Package

Security wise, login to a E-TM-10-25 source can be done with your COMET® login/password which your model administrator can also provide.

Normal Operations

The Enterprise Architect SysML adapter lets you transfer elements in one or the other direction.

When configuring a mapping from Enterprise Architect to the Hub or from the Hub to Enterprise Architect, you can define or redefine the target 10-25 element definition of each selected element from any Enterprise Architect browser. But also redefine mapping by specifying element by element a different target element.

The previous operations register themselves in a process where once you have defined what element to transfer to what element of destination, you have the possibility to preview the impact on the target model, but also to filter those impact view based on a selection from the source model.

Then you can transfer your mapped values to their configured destination. When you choose to transfer, the mapped elements are then transferred to the configured target model. In the case anything goes wrong at this stage, you can cancel, and the adapter will delete every configured mapping in the state of pending to transfer. Then the adapter will reload and re-apply the loaded mapping configuration.

All relationships of type Trace, Satisfy, DeriveReqt between Elements are automatically mapped to BinaryRelationships. The type of the relationship is mapped to a Category applied to the mapped BinaryRelationship.

For the Dependency between a ValueProperty and a State, this relationship will be represented by ActualFiniteStateList dependency.

Supported Elements

Please refer to the limits page for more information on transferable parameters to Comet.

Operations

The use of the adapter is separated in 3 main steps: Login to a model, map elements from a domain to another (eg. SysML to Comet), and transfer

Start the adapter and login

  1. Starting Entrprise Architect: Run your Entrepirse Architect as usual and open an Entreprise Architect Model.

  2. Opening of the adapter panels can be performed by pressing the COMET Menu on the Publish Category of the ribbon.

  3. Connect to the hub by pressing the “Connect” button in the “hub panel”.

    1. Connect by selecting the correct server address, with your usual credentials on Comet. Contact your Assistant System Engineer to know these informations.
  4. You can then select the Engineering model, the iteration, your domain of expertise.
