Introduction

In the tutorial section, you will see how to use the software performing basic tasks.

Getting Started

To get started 2 simple tasks are required to be accomplished.

Starting Capella

Run Capella and open a Capella model.

Opening the adapter panels

Opening of the panels can be performed by pressing the button with the COMET icon in the tool bar. The button itself is a dropdown one, where you can choose to open or close either the Impact View or the Hub Browser.

Using the Software on a Typical Task

Mapping from a Capella model in Capella to E-TM-10-25

  1. First, change the transfer direction so that the mapping source is the Capella model.
  2. Select one Element to be mapped with its children in one of the Capella elements trees.
  3. Right click on your selection and select “Map Selection”.
  4. Map one of the selected Capella Element to one ElementDefinition or choose the automatic mapping defined by the mapping dialog.
  5. Map one of the selected Requirement Element to one RequirementsSpecification or choose the automatic mapping defined by the mapping dialog.
  6. Inspect the net change in the impact view and select the mapped elements to be transferred.

Mapping from a Comet model to Capella

  1. First, change the transfer direction so that the mapping source is the Comet model.
  2. Select one Element to be mapped with its children in the Capella element browser.
  3. Right click on your selection and select “Map Selection”.
  4. Map one of the ElementDefinition to one existing Capella element, pick a target architecture (Logical or Physical) or choose the automatic mapping defined by the mapping dialog.
  5. Map one of the selected Requirement Element to one existing Capella requirement, pick a target architecture (any architecture can be picked for requirement) or choose the automatic mapping defined by the mapping dialog.
  6. Inspect the net change in the impact view and select the mapped elements to be transferred.

Transferring

At this stage you can select among the mapped element of what element you want to transfer. This can be achieved by manually select each element or by using the context menu like shown in the Figure 10. Any relationships that were mapped between the currently mapped element will be transferred only if both connected element are part of the transfer.

The Figure 11 shows that the transfer is in progress. When it is done any loaded mapping configuration will be reloaded.
